Tea

For years, I've had a cup of tea with breakfast. I used to drink the cheap variety that came in 100 bag boxes. Then I got concerned about microplastics from the bags leaching into my hot water. So I got one of those little stainless steel diffusers that makes a cup of tea, and started getting loose leaf tea's. So far I've tried English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, Darjeeling, Hibiscus, Winter White Chai, and many others. I must say that loose leaf tea has a much stronger aroma, and more flavor in general.
I've found that as a general rule, an ounce will make about 10 cups-- sometimes a little more, sometimes less. If you're buying in a little shop and they have glass jars, one trick to get your money's worth is to look for moisture in the jar. The dryer the tea, the longer it will stretch as a general rule. I've also found that coarser teas tend to make more cups per ounce than finely shredded ones.
Are you a tea drinker? If so have you tried loose leaf, or do you prefer bags?
